Sarah Parker — oboe
Sarah is an active performer in Wilmington and Southeastern North Carolina. Serving as the Principal Oboe of the Wilmington symphony and the Wilmington Symphonic Winds, she also performs regularly with the Long Bay Symphony and the Fayetteville Symphony. In addition to her busy performing schedule, Sarah enjoys teaching her private studio of oboists, both young and old. Sarah has enjoyed getting to know oboists worldwide as she has made reeds for them through her online oboe reed shop, Sarah Parker Oboe Reeds. Outside of her musical pursuits, Sarah loves spending time with her husband, Robert, and their daughter Charlotte.
Mary Gheen — flute
Mary is a flutist, instructor of music, and piano technician in the Wilmington area. She teaches full time at Cape Fear Community College and maintains a small piano service business. She served as a flutist for the 440th Army Band from 2015-2021 and has been an accomplished Piano Technician since 2009. Her education includes performance degrees from UNCW (B.M.) and East Carolina University (M.M.)
Christina Brier — harp
Christina is the co-founder of the Brooklyn Arts Music Academy. She is a graduate of Eastman School of Music and enjoys teaching, performing and collaborating with musicians within and outside of the Wilmington community.
John Tabler — organ
John Tabler is Organist and Music Director at First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington. He is a native of Martinsburg, West Virginia and a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory and University of Winchester, Virginia. He also served as Director of Music/Organist in Maryland and West Virginia. John enjoys performing in small chamber groups and collaborating with local musicians.
This program of music, suitable for organ instruments, will feature orchestral works transcribed and also suitable for keyboard and a small ensemble. Works performed will be by John Rutter, Ennio Morricone, Handel and Rachmaninoff.
