Serenade: Music for Voice & Guitar
Nancy King and Robert Nathanson formed Duo Sureño in 1999, as a collaboration to explore
the beauty and creativity of the human voice blended with classical guitar in repertoire from
the baroque to contemporary.  Accomplished solo artists, both are passionate about the challenge
of commissioning and creating new music to invigorate the traditional song recital. Recent
commissions include celebrated contemporary composers David Leisner, Andrew York, David Kechley,
Jing Jing Luo, William Neil, Christopher Gable and an arrangement of Cabaret Songs, by Grammy
award winning composer, William Bolcom.
